Malawi is home to Lake Malawi, which is not only Africa's third-largest lake but also possesses the largest number of fish species of any lake in the world. Remarkably, about 90% of these fish species are endemic, found nowhere else on Earth. The lake's biodiversity and evolutionary significance make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a fascinating destination for ecotourism and scientific research.
Malawi is one of the few places in Africa where you can partake in what's known as a "cultural tour." These tours offer visitors a chance to stay in traditional village huts, participate in daily activities alongside locals like farming or cooking, and immerse themselves in authentic Malawian culture. It's a truly unique way to experience the warmth and hospitality of the country's people.
